11-15 September Aleksandra Potocka-Kuc and Marzanna Kostecka-Biskupska, teacher-consultants at the Holy Cross Teacher Training Centre in Kielce. The visit is part of the Erasmus+ KA1 project “Let’s Change Ourselves Today for a Better Tomorrow”, implemented by the Kaunas Education Innovation Centre and the Kelciai Holy Cross Teacher Training Centre. Part of the “Creating pro-environmental change in SCDN” programme.
11 September In the morning, the guests visited the Kaunas Algis Žikevičius Safe Child School and met for a chat with the headmistress Rasa Šerpytiene, deputy headmistresses Egle Rakauskienė, Daiva Piličiauskienė and Sandra Televičienė.
This meeting was an excellent opportunity to discuss the peculiarities of the activities of the VET centres in the field of education, to exchange experience in the organisation of non-formal education for children and adults, to discuss issues related to the financing of non-formal education, attraction of teachers, parental involvement in the child’s education process, the challenges facing educational institutions, etc.
We would like to thank the leaders of Kaunas Algis Žikevičius Safe Child School for their warm welcome and inspiring examples of non-formal education activities.
On Monday afternoon, guests from Poland visited Kaunas Education Innovation Centre, got acquainted with the Centre’s activities and projects, discussed ecology-related activities, competitions and projects, and discussed how each of us could contribute to more sustainable solutions in our daily lives and encourage the younger generation to make ecological changes.
The programme of the visit also includes meetings with the heads of Kaunas Lagoon Regional Park Authority, President Valdas Adamkus Gymnasium and Vytautas Magnus University Academy of Agriculture.
